In under an hour’s drive, you can be in Rennes’ half timbered mediaeval heart, mesmerised by Nantes’ wonderful mechanical elephant and other Jules Vernesque creatures, lazing on the golden sands of Pornichet and La baule, sampling the wines of the muscadet vineyards around Ancenis and Nantes and much much more….
